Why do black cars look so cool when it rains outside?

cool cars
m-cha asked:

I have a new jet black BMW, so part of this may be because the paint is so fresh (it’s only a month or so old) but since I got my license I’ve noticed that when it rains outside, black cars always look really deep-colored and neat. It’s not like the water is actually penetrating the paint like it does to the grass and other stuff when it rains outside, so that can’t be it. If you have any idea what I’m talking about, why is this??

The reflection more than when its wet it reflects light anyway so the difference is less marked.
